Office building for goa tourism development corporation, panaji

How can a public building integrate itself in the existing urban fabric ?
This building is rooted in the heritage architecture of Goa and aspires towards modernity as it ascends upwards.
The purpose of this building and it’s site prompted us to raise the front road and bring the Mandovi river water inside our building – for small tourist boats to come and go. The building is extremely climate responsive with good protective roof chajjahs against the rains and sun on the west, whereas the south façade is clad with building integrated solar photovoltaic panels.
Some roadside walls of the building act as information screens as well as for movies about Goa’s art, architecture, music and culture. So tourists walking on the road can stop and watch. The large arrival atrium also has an interactive sculpture for the visitors.
In a way, this building seems to become a brand ambassador for Goa.
