Paintings

A child learns to draw and paint before he can read and write. The visual imagery with it’s colours, textures, shapes, forms and compositions occupies a very prominent place in my overall conscious as well as subconscious repertoire of this ‘Life’.
Some of these images have an archetypal quality- that springing from the collective unconscious of the society. The socio- cultural content and undercurrent is evident in this imagery.
My immense fascination with roots comes not only from their intricate, intermingling networked form but also from their firm, rooted connection to the soil- the mother earth. This connectedness with the ‘terra- firma’ (the site) is also expressed through my architectural designs. Painting becomes the spontaneous expression of my subconscious, visual understandings in Life.
