can architecture help in improving our community living?
The housing complex is situated on a hill slope with unobstructed view of the surroundings. The housing orientation was decided taking into consideration the need for blocking the direct sun and to bring in a remarkable temperature difference between the inside and outside. Ground floor flats have a front yard while the first floors ones have a rear yard. Spaces have been provided on the corridor for small groups to interact, without disturbing the privacy of the residents. The buildings were constructed out of the beautiful, local granite stone used for the load bearing masonry walls. The cross walls are plastered brick masonry with fenestration.
